COLORADO SPRINGS -- BYU cross country athletes junior Katie Bowen and junior Miles Batty have won the Mountain West Conference Athlete of the Week honors.
Bowen has earned her second award this season for leading the women’s team to an 11th place finish at the Pre-Nationals Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind. Bowen finished 16th overall in the 6K event in a career best time of 20:42.3, a season best in the MWC.

For the No. 13 men’s team, Batty is collecting his third honor this season for finishing fifth overall at the Pre-Nationals Invitational. Batty’s 8K time of 23:42.4, also a best in the MWC for the 2010 season, helped lead the Cougars to a 2nd place finish with 138 points.
"Miles has looked incredible," head coach Ed Eyestone said. "He is one of the best runners in the country."
Both BYU harriers will look to lead their teams to more success at the MWC Championships on Friday, October 29 in Laramie, Wyoming.
