23 BYU Cross Country Runners Named Academic All-MWC

COLORADO SPRINGS -- Twenty-three BYU cross country runners, 14 men and nine women, were named to the fall 2008 Academic All-Mountain West Conference team after the final list was released this afternoon.

In order to be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at BYU while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.

Out of the total of 384 student-athletes named for the fall 2008 season, 72 represented the Cougars. Fall sports included men’s and women’s cross country, football, women’s soccer and women’s volleyball.
