PROVO -- The Mountain West Conference recognized BYU freshman Cecily Lemmon as the Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for her second-place finish in Hawaii on Saturday.

Lemmon ran the 4K race at the Big Wave Invitational in a time of 14:39, the fastest time of the year in the MWC. Her second-place finish propelled the Cougars to their first win of the season.

BYU dominated the race, finishing with seven runners in the top 10. BYU's top five runners finished Nos. 2-6. Lemmon was coming off a 13th-place finish at the BYU Autumn Classic two weeks ago.
