Andersen Receives MWC Honors
PROVO -- Junior Kassi Andersen was selected Tuesday as the Mountain West Conference Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.
Andersen had a first-place finish at BYU's Autumn Classic on Saturday at East Bay Golf Course in Provo. Competing in her first race since 2003 due to injury and a LDS mission, Andersen finished the 5k race in 17:54.30 for the victory.
As a sophomore Andersen placed 13th at the NCAA Championships, where just a year prior she was a member of Coach Shane's 2002 NCAA Championship team. Anderson received All-America honors both her freshman and sophomore seasons.
A native of Provo, Andersen earned four letters in both cross country and track at Provo High School.
