Three Runners Honored As All-American
PROVO -- After their performances at the NCAA Championships on Nov. 21, junior Josh Rohatinsky, sophomore Chandler Goodwin and senior Chelsea Smith McKell were each named USCCCA All-Americans.
"If we want to end up where we want to be, which is challenging for a national championship year in and year out we've got to have multiple All-Americans," men's head coach Ed Eyestone said. "The fact that we had two guys earn All-American is great."
Rohatinsky placed sixth overall in the National Championships to finish his All-American season. The All-America honor is Rohatinsky's second consecutive award. He picked up his fist honor last season after placing 26th at the 2004 national championship.
Goodwin earned his first All-America honor with a 36th place finish at the NCAA Championships. Goodwin became the third runner at BYU to earn All-America honor in his sophomore season. The other two were Rohatinsky and Eyestone.
Chelsea Smith McKell earned her first NCAA Div. I All-America honor after placing 24th at the NCAA Championships. McKell transferred to BYU from BYU-Hawaii where she won the NCAA Div. I-AA Cross Country Championships in 2003 and 2004.
