Rohatinsky Earns MWC Top Runner
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Junior Josh Rohatinsky was selected as Mountain West Conference Athlete of the Week after his performance at last Saturday's Griak Invitational.
Rohatinsky, a Provo, Utah, native, placed third at the Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn. He clocked an 8K conference season-best time of 24:06, leading the No. 4 Cougars to the team victory in the men's gold division, which featured No. 1 Wisconsin, No. 10 Iowa, 11th-ranked Cal Poly, 14th-ranked Michigan, No. 16 Ohio State and No. 20 Minnesota.
This is the second time Rohatinsky has been honored as MWC Cross Country Athlete of the Week. The first came after winning three consecutive races to start the season last year. Also in Rohatinsky's sophomore season he earned All-America honors after placing 22nd in the NCAA National Championships. He also earned first-team All-MWC honors with a third place finish at the conference championships. As a freshman he was named MWC Freshman of the Year.
