I chose track over other sports because: It was the only sport I could beat my older brother in.
Before a meet: I talk to all the competitors. I really enjoy the associations of my competitors. My teammates call me "the ambassador" because I have friends on many teams.
How I spend my off-season: What off-season? 10 months of competition
Who has been the greatest influence on my cross country career and why: Too many people to count. My wife (support), parents (encourage), Coach James (believe in myself), Coach Eyestone (know how to have fun), Coach Taylor (analyze everything).
What I want to be doing 20 years from now: Making enough money to not have to stress about money. Have plenty of time to spend with my family and each of my kids.
Who is the best athlete I have ever competed against: Bernard Legat--2004 Athens Olympics silver medalist
What would I like to do sometime in my life: Compete in the Olympics
My favorite book is: Ender's Game
My favorite TV show as a child was: Wonder Years
If I could compete in another sport it would be: Basketball
My most memorable athletic achievement is: Becoming an All-American in the 1500m my freshman year
What I like to do outside of track: Hand out with my wife and son, play games
My favorite CD is: A CD of my wife singing (She's a vocal performance major.)

My advice to youngsters is: Find something you love and do everything you can to excel in it.
Interesting fact most people wouldn't guess about me is: I was almost born in an elevator. It broke down between floors. My Mom was stuck for an hour. Mom climbed out on a ladder. I was born minutes later.
