Cougars Kick Off Season with the BYU Alumni Invitational
PROVO -- The 2004 men's and women's cross country season kicks off Friday September 3rd, with the BYU Alumni Invitational.
UVSC and BYU alumni will be competing against the 2004 Cougars and will begin with the men's 4 mile starting at 8:00 p.m. and the women's 5K starting at 8:30 p.m.
Both the men and women return a solid group of runners. Athletes to watch for the men include: seniors Matt Adams, Bryan Lindsay, Chad Durham and Nathan Robison. Robison earned All-American honors during the 2003 cross country season.
For the women, they return a young and talented group led by two-time All-American and junior Kassi Anderson, as well as senior and three-time All-American Laura Turner, senior Lisa Antonelli-Pratt and the 2003 MWC Freshman of the Year in Amber Harper.
This is the first opportunity for fans to see the new additions to both teams and enjoy a fun night of competition under the lights.
The meet will be held at the BYU Intramural Fields, which are located west of LaVell Edwards Stadium.
