BYU's Kangogo and Andersen Earn Mountain West Conference Cross Country Honors
COLORADO SPRINGS -- Brigham Young University sophomores Kip Kangogo and Kassi Andersen have been selected as the Mountain West Conference men's and women's cross country athletes of the week, respectively.
Kangogo recorded his third consecutive victory on Oct. 19 at the Asics/Pacesetter Pre-National Invitational in Terra Haute, Ind., finishing the 8K course in 23:46. The Kabarnet, Kenya, native has yet to lose a collegiate race. BYU finished third out of 35 teams.
Andersen, from Provo, Utah, finished sixth out of 259 runners at the Asics/Pacesetter Pre-National Invitational in Terra Haute, Ind., on Oct. 19. She ran the 6K course in a personal-best 20:24, leading the Cougars to a first place finish.
This is the second time this season Andersen and Kangogo have been named cross country athletes of the week.
