PROVO -- Sharolyn Shields, a junior from Calgary Alberta, was named female cross country athlete of the week for her third-place finish at the Triple Crown Invitational on Saturday.
Shields' time of 17:01.70 in the three-mile event was the fastest in the conference so far this year. She was the first Cougar to cross the finish line as the No. 1 women's team took second place at the Triple Crown.
BYU will next compete in the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota on Sept. 25.
