Laura Heiner Named Mountain West Conference Athlete of the Week
PROVO -- Heiner, a sophomore from Clifton, Va., was named cross country athlete of the week by the Mountain West Conference for her outstanding ninth-place finish at the Stanford Invitational on Saturday.
Laura's finish was the highest by a Cougar at Stanford, and her time of 16:56 was the best in the conference this year. The mark was also her career-best for a 5K race.
BYU runners have now been honored for three consecutive weeks with the award. Sharolyn Shields and John Hedengren are previous recipients of the honor.
