NCAA announces revised schedule for Saturday's Cross Country Championships

Revised Schedule for the 2017 NCAA Cross Country Championships

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky – The NCAA Track and Field and Cross Country Committee has determined to adjust the start times for Saturday's NCAA Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.

Race start times have been adjusted to 9 a.m. EST for the women and 10 a.m. for the men. The races were originally scheduled for 10:45 and 11:45 a.m.

A live video broadcast of the NCAA Championships will be available at FloTrack.org. Fans are required to create an account and pay a membership fee to view the live feed. Coverage of the meet will begin at 7:15 a.m. EST. 

The NCAA Track and Field and Cross Country Committee has continued to monitor the weather. Based on the most recent reports and information provided by local meteorologists, below are updates and changes to tomorrow’s championship schedule. Attached is the full updated timeline.  

  • The course will open at 7 a.m. to teams and 7:30 a.m. to spectators.
  • Race start times have been adjusted to 9 a.m. for the women and 10 a.m. for the men.
  • Check-in for the women will begin at 7:40 a.m. and the men at 8:40 a.m. 
  • Awards have been relocated to the Recreation Building. Awards will take place at approximately 11 a.m.

If the race has already begun and would have to be suspended in the middle of the competition due to weather, the track and field and cross country committee will follow the below policy regarding the re-start of races:
 
Men’s 10,000 meter - If competition is suspended before 3,000 meters, the race will be run the same day with a two-hour delay. If competition is suspended after 3,000 meters, the race will be postponed until the next day.

Women’s 6,000 meter - If competition is suspended before 2,000 meters, the race will be run the same day with a two-hour delay. If competition is suspended after 2,000 meters, the race will be postponed until the next day.
