BYU makes appearance in national and regional rankings
PROVO, Utah – The 2016 season begins this weekend for the BYU men's and women's cross country teams. The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association has released the pre-season national and regional rankings with both BYU teams making a strong debut among the nation's best programs.
The BYU women’s cross country team ranks fourth overall in the mountain region, coming in right behind their up coming competition, Weber State. The team was selected at number 27 in the national rankings. The Cougars finished 23rd in the nation at the 2015 NCAA Championships.
The BYU men’s cross country was allotted a ranking of fourth in the regional USTFCCCA poll and 13th in the national rankings. The men’s team had a strong finish last year placing 12th at the NCAA national meet.
