Flint, Nelson and Peloquin named all-academic
SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Steve Flint, Jonathan Nelson and Conner Peloquin were named to the 2014 West Coast Conference All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference Thursday.
Flint became the only three-time honoree from the conference. BYU's top finisher at nationals, the Bayfield, Colorado native and actuarial science major has achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.78.
Nelson, a Provo native and junior who was the Cougars' top finisher in four meets this season, holds a 3.55 GPA as a statistics major.
Peloquin, a senior from Gig Harbor, Washington, holds a 3.56 GPA as a marketing major. Peloquin scored points for BYU in every meet this season.
Aaron Fletcher, a junior from Anchorage, Alaska, received honorable mention.
BYU and Portland led the conference in all-academic honorees with three each out of the ten athletes honored. To qualify, athletes needed to have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher, while contributing signicantly to the team's athletic performance.
