Deward Loose, a former graduate of Brigham Young University and previous head swimming coach of Lone Peak High School will begin his second year as an assistant coach with the men's squad.
Loose has been coaching swimming for 23 years and has coached swimmers in Washington, New Mexico and Utah. His teams have won a total of eight state titles including high school and club teams. He has also coached numerous high school All-Americans.
Loose graduated from BYU in 1987 with a degree in Physical Education with a History minor and earned his Secondary Teaching certificate. Loose currently teaches AP US Government and Politics, AP Comparative Government and Politics, AP Human Geography and US History.
Loose was a speaker/presenter at the ASCA World Swim Clinic in New Orleans in 1996.
Loose is married with five children and enjoys reading, doing research and writing for self-improvement.
