Adams and Covington Finish at NCAA's

ATLANTA -- After three days of competition the Women's NCAA Champions have come to an end with two BYU swimmers turning in great performances.

Senior Cortnee Adams and junior Tamber Covington were both on hand at the NCAA's representing BYU after they each turned in top performances at the Mountain West Conference Championships.

Adams, the MWC Champion in 50, 100 and 200-yard freestyle events, placed 36th in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.25, 45th in the 100-yard freestyle turning in a time of 50.66, and finished the 100-yard fly in 56.01 good enough for 45th as well.

Making her first appearance at the NCAA's, Covington, the MWC Champion in both the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke, turned in a 28th place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.38, and swam to a 29th place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke as she recorded a time of 2:16.96.

For the second straight year Auburn University claimed the national title, with Georgia and Southern Cal rounding out the top three.
