The Cougar women’s basketball team (3-4) returns to action next week, playing its first game in the Marriott Center since the contest against Weber State on Nov. 9.
BYU hosts Utah State (2-4) Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m.

On the season, BYU has picked up wins over Weber State, Dartmouth and Arizona. In four of the seven games played to date, BYU had three players score in double digits. Sophomore Lexi Eaton recorded double digits in points in all seven contests. Haley Steed is the team leader in assists in all seven as well. The Cougars have played six consecutive games away from the Marriott Center.

Utah State Capsule
Utah State has compiled a 2-4 record to date. It hosts Montana State Saturday before making the trip to Provo on Tuesday. The Aggies return 11 letterwinners and three starters from a team that went 21-10 last season, 11-3 in league, finished second in the WAC and played in the first round of the postseason WNIT.

Last Meeting
The two in-state foes played last year in Logan on Dec. 17 when four BYU players scored in double figures on their way to a 73-65 win. Dani Peterson led the Cougar effort with 14 points followed by 12 from Lexi Eaton and Stephanie Vermunt. Kim Parker had 11 points. Haley Steed grabbed game highs in rebounds with 10 rebounds and in assists with eight and chipped in eight points. 

For the Aggies, Devyn Peterson led all scorers with 18 followed by 10 points each from Ashlee Brown, Elise Nelson and Brooke Jackson.

The Cougars shot 40 percent from the field and 75 percent from the free throw line while the Aggies shot 44 percent from the field and 69 percent from the charity stripe.

After the home game against the Aggies, BYU takes a short trip to Salt Lake City for another in-state rival contest. The Cougars take on the Utes on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 3 p.m. That game can be heard live on BYU Radio.
