Parker Picks Up WCC Player of the Week Honor

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- Sophomore guard Kim Parker has been named the West Coast Conference women's basketball Player of the Week for December 5.

Parker, from Heber City and Wasatch High School, averaged 21.3 points, five assists and 4.7 rebounds per game as the Cougars went 3-0 last week at the Hukilau Invitational in Laie, Hawaii. The award is her first of the season and the second in her career.

In the first game of the week against BYU-Hawaii, Parker put up 17 points, grabbed five rebounds, dished out three assists and had four steals.

Against Pac-12 opponent Arizona, Parker picked up a season and career high 25 points to lead all scorers for her third straight double digit outing, the fifth this season and her 10th overall.

In the final game of the Hukilau Invitational vs. Syracuse, Parker led the team with 22 points. She also grabbed five rebounds and dished out six assists.

For the week, Parker tallied a total of 64 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, dished out 15 assists and also recorded three blocks and five steals.

Parker currently leads the team in points with a 13.7 average while grabbing 3.8 rebounds per game.
