Bonham, Wood Lead BYU Team in MWC Accolades

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Mindy Bonham and Coriann Wood picked up two of the eight awards the BYU women’s basketball team received as the all-conference teams and individual award winners were announced by the MWC today.

Bonham was named to the All-MWC Second Team while Wood received the 6th Player of the Year award. Bonham’s honor is her second straight. Last year she was named to the All-MWC Third Team.

For the second year in a row, Bonham was named to the All-Defensive team. Also making the All-Defensive team was junior guard Jazmine Foreman.

Foreman was named also named Honorable Mention All-MWC along with teammates Haley Hall, Kristen Riley and Coriann Wood. The league’s nine coaches select all of the awards.

The Cougars finished the MWC regular season in second place after defeating league champion TCU on Saturday, 70-65.

BYU is the No. 2 seed heading into this week’s MWC women’s basketball tournament getting a bye into the semifinal round, playing its first game on Fri. Mar. 12.
