Registration Open for 2009 BYU Basketball Camps

PROVO, Utah – (May 15, 2009) Basketball enthusiasts of all ages have the opportunity to participate in four unique 2009 summer basketball camps sponsored by BYU head women’s basketball coach Jeff Judkins and his staff.

Each camp encompasses instruction in the fundamentals of passing dribbling, shooting, rebounding, offense, defense, and team strategies. Registration is available by calling 801-422-4851 or on line at http://byusportscamps.com

The 2009 summer basketball schedule begins with a two-day cubs camp for boys and girls ages 6-12 held June 2-4 on the BYU campus

Girls ages 10-18 with all skill levels can participate in two, all-day individual camps on June 15-18 or July 6-9.

This year the Cougar staff will also hold a team camp for freshman, sophomore, JV and varsity team divisions to be held on June 18-20 with a five-game guarantee. For more information on this camp and to register please call: 801-422-8035.

Camp participants will have the opportunity to use BYU’s outstanding training facilities and receive camp T-shirts, and basketballs. Some camps include meals and housing on campus.

An elite camp for girls in grades eighth through 12th can take part in the Judkins Elite Camp June 22-23 to be held at Skyline High School in Salt Lake City. This camp will include skill development sessions, games, and instruction regarding individual position play. Drills will be taught and executed at a college level of intensity. Under the helm of coach Judkins and his staff, the BYU women’s basketball program has won two Mountain West Conference (MWC) Regular Season titles (2006, 2007). The teams have also participated in postseason tournaments in five of the last eight year, competing in the Sweet Sixteen in 2002. Coach Judkins also garnered back-to-back Coach of the Year accolades in 2006 and 2007.
