BYU Women Take Court for First Time in Exhibition Game

PROVO -- The BYU women's basketball team will take the court for the first time this season in an exhibition meeting against the Slovakian national team Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Marriot Center.

The Slovakian team will play Utah on Thursday and Weber State on Friday before heading to Provo to take on the Cougars.

"We don't really know that much about them," BYU head coach Trent Shippen said. "Foreign teams generally tend to run up and down the floor a lot and shoot from the perimeter, which would give us some good practice defensively.

"It will be good to get a running clock and get a feel of where we're at as a team, as well as give us an idea as far as what we want to do with our lineups."

Saturday's exhibition game will take place at 7 p.m. at the Marriott Center.
