Whiting to participate in “Big 12 Hoops in the Park”
PROVO, Utah – BYU women's basketball head coach Amber Whiting will participate in leading youth clinics this summer during the “Big 12 Hoops in the Park” at Rucker Park, the Conference announced Thursday.

Whiting will join BYU men's basketball head coach Mark Pope and nine other Big 12 coaches in New York City, six men's and six women's coaches, to lead clinics with local youth. On the women's side, participating coaches include Amber Whiting (BYU), Katrina Merriweather (Cincinnati), Ron Hughey (Houston), Jeff Mittie (Kansas State) and Krista Gerlich (Texas Tech). Men's coaches that will be in attendance include Mark Pope (BYU), Scott Drew (Baylor), Wes Miller (Cincinnati), Jerome Tang (Kansas State), Mike Boynton (Oklahoma State) and Jamie Dixon (TCU).
Big 12 Hoops in the Park will take place on Tuesday, July 18, in partnership with New York City Parks. At the conclusion of the clinic, coaches will participate in a Q&A with participating youth. The event will also feature live DJs, food trucks and more.
