Gustin earns WCC Player of the Week honors
SAN MATEO, Calif. – BYU forward Lauren Gustin was named Co-West Conference Player of the Week on Monday, after earning her eighth double-double of the season.
Gustin, No. 2 nationally with eight double-doubles on the season, scored a season-high 24 points and pulled down 17 rebounds in a 76-67 win at Boise State last week.
The junior has hit the double-double mark every game of the 2022-23 season. The Salem, Utah, product is averaging 16.4 points per game and 14.0 rebounds.
A Katrina McClain Award candidate, Gustin ranks No. 2 nationally in rebounds per game and No. 3 in total rebounds. She posted a season-high 20 rebound against No. 16 Oklahoma.
Gustin shares the honor this week with Anaya James of Pacific.
BYU faces Utah State on the road on Tuesday this week at 11 a.m. MT.
