Gustin named WCC Player of the Week
SAN MATEO, Calif. – BYU forward Lauren Gustin was named West Coast Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
Gustin posted her fifth double-double of the season in an 89-67 win at Montana State on Dec. 21 to help No. 18 BYU wrap up its non-conference season at 10-1.
The Salem, Utah, product, scored 15 points and pulled down 18 rebounds, including six offensive boards. It was her third game this year with 16 or more rebounds and eighth with double-digit boards. She set a career high at BYU earlier this season with 21 rebounds against Oklahoma.
Gustin leads the WCC and is ranked No. 2 in the nation at 12.7 rebounds per game. Her five double-doubles rank No. 22 nationally.
BYU hosts San Diego to open up WCC play on Thursday, Dec. 30 at 7 p.m. in the Marriott Center. The game will be broadcast on BYUtv.
