Hamson, Albiero receive All-Academic honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif. –Junior center Sara Hamson has been named to the 2019-20 West Coast Conference Women’s Basketball All-Academic Team, the league announced Wednesday.

This season, 18 student-athletes posted a GPA of 3.50 or better and six posted a 3.75 GPA or better. Three student-athletes are making their second appearances in Sara Hamson of BYU, Maddie Muhlheim or Portland and Lauren Yearwood of Santa Clara.

BYU's Maria Albiero was one of 26 student-athletes who were named 2019-20 WCC Women's Basketball All-Academic Honorable Mention. Albiero has a 3.76 GPA in Exercise Science.

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average while also being a significant contributor to her team.
