Vienna, Austria – After picking up the team's first win on its four-game, four-country European Tour, BYU women's basketball continues the second leg of its 12-day tour, arriving in Vienna Wednesday afternoon. The Cougars will play club team BK Duchess Thursday afternoon.

Athlete journal by Shalae Salmon - Wednesday, Aug. 22

Today we left the beautiful city of Prague and headed towards Vienna, Austria! We left at around 9 a.m. to begin our bus journey. The bus ride was supposed to last four hours but ended up being around seven hours because of the stop we took halfway through our trip. We stopped at the cutest city called Cesky Krumlov and spent an hour or so walking around, admiring the architecture, eating the food and taking a lot of pictures! Pictures are a must!

As we continued on our journey to Austria, the bus ride was full of karaoke, laughing, games, sleeping, singing and hearing Vice President Richardson singing/rapping a BYU song which none of us knew. It was hilarious!

Once we finally arrived in Vienna we checked into our hotel and went straight to dinner where we enjoyed some of Austria’s finest cuisine. Afterward, we all walked as a group to hear the Weiner Mozart Orchestra perform music by Austria’s famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.  It was a great experience!

Even though we miss Prague, our first day in Vienna has already been so enjoyable and I look forward to what lies ahead tomorrow!! And it’s also GAME DAY TOMORROW! GO COUGS!
