PROVO, Utah— BYU women’s basketball has announced the addition of two international recruits to the 2018-19 roster — Kaylee Smiler and Signe Glantz.

Smiler comes to Provo from Hamilton, New Zealand. Smiler, a 5-foot-6 guard, played for the province of Waikato on the U19 and U23 women’s teams. The U19 and U23 teams won their respective tournaments. She was selected to the U19 Tournament Team.

She prepped at Melville High School where she averaged 18.0 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. She was one of six finalists for the Waikato Secondary School Sports Awards.

Glantz is from Ostersund, Sweden. The 6-foot-1 forward played three years on the BG Lulea Swedish National Team.

Glantz was a member of the U18 team that won the 2017 FIBA Women’s European Champions in Division A. In 2015, her U16 team was European Champions in Division B. She also played on the U 19 National Team.

The two join Shaylee Gonzales, Tahlia White and Babalu Ugwu, who signed letters of intent to play for the Cougars last November.
