PROVO, Utah—The West Coast Conference has announced the 2015-16 women’s basketball schedule.

“We will have another difficult conference race this year and our four-game, two-week road trip will really test us,” BYU head coach Jeff Judkins said.

“The games with San Diego, Pacific and Saint Mary’s will be tough both at home and on the road and we will have to play at Gonzaga the last week of the conference schedule. We will need to play our very best to contend for a championship.”

BYU begins league action on the road at San Diego on Wednesday, Dec. 23. The following week, it opens up its home conference schedule hosting Saint Mary’s and Pacific on Dec. 31 and Jan. 2.

A trip to northern California is next with matchups at Santa Clara and San Francisco on Jan. 7 and Jan. 9.

Two-straight weeks of home league games follow for the Cougar women in January. BYU hosts Gonzaga on Jan. 14 and Portland on Jan. 16. Loyola Marymount makes a trip to the Marriott Center on Jan. 21 with Pepperdine battling the Cougars in Provo on Jan. 23.

After two weeks of home games, BYU women’s basketball spends the following two weeks battling league opponents on the road. The four-game, two-week road swing begins in southern California with games at LMU and at Pepperdine on Jan. 28 and 30, the same two teams it hosted the previous week. Games at Pacific and at Saint Mary’s round out the schedule on Feb. 4 and Feb. 6.

The Cougar women return to Provo to play three games as the second half of league action continues. BYU hosts San Francisco on Feb. 11 and Santa Clara on Feb. 13. They play just one conference game the following week when San Diego comes to the Marriott Center on Feb. 18.

Conference play wraps up the last week of February with BYU finding itself on the road. The Cougars are at Portland on Feb. 25 and at Gonzaga on Feb. 27.

The 2016 WCC Basketball Championships are once again at The Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Mar. 3-8. BYU will enter the tournament as the defending champions and will battle to repeat as title winners.
