Garfield, Eaton among five Cougar women that garner WCC academic honors
SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Senior Ashley Garfield and junior Lexi Eaton were named to the 2014-15 West Coast Conference Women’s Basketball All-Academic Team, announced the league office.
The honor is the first for both Garfield and Eaton. Garfield has a 3.98 GPA in school health education and Eaton has a 3.32 GPA as a psychology major.
Kylie Maeda, Makenzi Morrison and Kristine Fuller were named WCC Women’s Basketball All-Academic Honorable Mention. Maeda and Fuller are both majoring in exercise and wellness and carry 3.46 and 3.38 GPA’s, respectively. Morrison is majoring in experience management and holds a 3.26 GPA.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.
