Hamson signs with WNBA’s LA Sparks
LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Sparks announced that they have signed BYU All-American Jennifer Hamson to a contract.
Hamson was drafted by the Sparks in the second round of last year’s draft and was the 23rd overall player picked. She delayed her signing a contract with the team to finish her final year of eligibility with the women’s volleyball team for the 2014 season.
She becomes the third BYU player to sign with the WNBA. Former All-American Erin Thorn signed with the New York Liberty in 2003 and also played for the Chicago Sky, Minnesota Lynx and Indiana Fever. Ambrosia Anderson signed and played one year for the Detroit Shock in 2006 and currently plays overseas. Both were picked 17th overall.
