With an 11-5 record in the West Coast Conference, the BYU women’s basketball team will enter the 2013 Zappos WCC Women’s Basketball Championship as the No. 4 seed. All of the tournament games will be played in Las Vegas at the Orleans Arena March 6-11.

The Cougars tied for third place with Saint Mary’s, but because SMC defeated Gonzaga and the Bulldogs swept BYU, the Gaels got the No. 3 seed.

BYU will play in the first quarterfinal game on Friday, March 8 at noon PST. The Cougars will await the winner of the second round game between LMU (the No. 5 seed) and either No. 8 seed USF or No. 9 seed Pepperdine.  The No. 8 and No. 9 seeds play the first round game Wednesday, March 6 at 3 p.m. PST.

All of the women’s games, except for the championship, are scheduled to air live on BYUtv. The title game will air live on ESPNU.

The winner of the women’s WCC tournament receives an automatic bid into the 2013 NCAA Championships. Last year the Cougar women defeated Gonzaga and represented the league in the postseason tournament.
