Cross country set to defend WCC titles
PROVO, Utah – No. 1/No. 2 BYU cross country will look to sweep the West Coast Conference Championships for the third consecutive year at the 2020 WCC Cross Country Championships on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at Craig Ranch Regional Park.

- 2020-21 WCC Cross Country Almanac
The BYU men’s team remained atop the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association national poll for the second week in a row while the women’s team stayed at No. 2 in last week’s rankings.
The Cougars have won both the men’s and women’s WCC titles the previous two seasons. The men’s program has captured the last five conference championships, including three individual titles during that time span. The women’s team has won both the team and individual titles the last two years. All-Americans Conner Mantz and Whittni Orton won the individual titles in 2019.
The two BYU programs are among the seven total WCC programs that have competed in this 2020-21 cross country season. This week’s meet will be the debut for the remaining 12 programs.
The league has instructed that this year’s event retain the designation “2020 WCC Cross Country Championships” and that the 2021 event is planned for the fall.
