BYU Athletes Collect T-Shirts for Clothes 4 Souls
PROVO, Utah—BYU athletes are collecting new or gently used T-shirts for Clothes 4 Souls as part of the Zappos.com West Coast Conference T-shirt drive, hoping to gather 6,500 shirts before Nov. 9.
Each team, including those that aren’t a member of the WCC, is responsible to collect shirts. The athletes are looking for help reaching their goal through student, faculty and fan donations of T-shirts.
The T-shirts will be sent to underprivileged people in countries across the world. The shirts should be in good, wearable condition and must have sleeves.
“We are anxious to get this project in the fast lane and be a good representative for our new conference,” Bob and Cindy Wakefield wrote.
Donations should be left in the Wakefields’ office, room 374 of the Student Athlete Building.
The WCC has also participated in the Soles 4 Souls shoe drive, another collection program in the same organization, since 2008 and has sent almost 27,000 shoes across the world. This year the conference decided to switch from donating shoes to donating clothes.
