PROVO -- The BYU Athletic Department received several honors from the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) and the National Association of Collegiate Marketing for outstanding publications from the 2008-09 seasons.

The men’s volleyball media guide and the women’s soccer media guide cover earned Best in the Nation by CoSIDA, while several other media guides placed in their respective categories.

"It's a great honor for our staff to be nationally recognized for excellence in marketing, communications and publications," said BYU Associate Athletic Director Duff Tittle. "The awards are a direct result of their passion for and commitment to BYU Athletics."

The men’s and women’s golf media guides placed fourth for multi-sport media guides, while the women’s volleyball media guide placed third in the respective sport’s category.

Media guides are written, designed and complied by various BYU Athletic Communications employees. Those contributing to the men’s volleyball guide include Kamie Robinson and Carey Hoki, and Robinson is also responsible for the design on the women’s soccer guide.

CoSIDA also recognized BYU posters. Those receiving awards include BYU’s football poster, which placed third in the fall posters category and the baseball poster, which placed sixth in spring posters.

All media guides and posters are designed by BYU’s Athletic Publications and Graphics Department, which is overseen by Dave Broberg. The posters receiving recognition were designed by Broberg and Seth Alling, while BYU photographers Mark Philbrick and Jaren Wilkey took all photos for both the posters and media guides.

NACMA also honored the BYU Athletic Marketing Department. BYU placed first in the single newspaper display advertisement category and third in the TV commercial category. The newspaper advertisement marketed the women’s soccer team, while the TV commercial promoted the BYU men’s basketball team. The BYU Athletic Marketing Department is overseen by David Almodova.
