Freshman Megan Price made her presence felt this weekend in three road matches. Price went undefeated in singles and doubles, finishing the weekend with a 6-0 record. She and partner Romina Nedakovic clinched the doubles point in the matches against Kansas and Kansas State. She was also the first Cougar to secure a singles win in the close 4-3 match over Kansas.

Cassidy Mears - Men's Tennis - Junior - Shawnee, Kansas

Cassidy Mears showed true leadership this weekend as his team competed at the HEB Invitational. The junior was 2-0 in singles play, earning an important point in the upset of No. 50 DePaul and the only point against No. 53 Middle Tennessee. He has lost only one match in his last six. Mears finished only one doubles match with partner Daniel Hwang. The pair suffered its first loss of the season in the Middle Tennessee match and are currently 5-1.

Paige Affleck - Softball - Sophomore - New Harmony, Utah

Affleck (8-5, 1.53) led the Cougars at the Bayer Cropscience Classic in Fresno, Calif., earning one of five spots on the All-Tournament Team. With a six-inning relief appearance against No. 21/24 Fresno State, she earned the win tossing a combined no hitter with Christie Zinanti. With the tiebreaker rule in effect, Affleck loaded the bases with two outs, on a hitbatsman and a walk but a called third strike gave BYU the win, as Affleck totaled eight strikeouts on the games.

Affleck remained almost untouchable throughout the remainder of the Classic. She tossed a complete seven innings against Providence allowing four hits and two earned runs, her only earned runs allowed over four appearances. Against Northern Illinois she threw her second complete game of the Classic, helping BYU to a 10-1, five-inning victory. She gave up only two hits and struck out nine batters.

Against No. 9/10 Cal she made a relief appearance, retiring five-straight batters in the last 1.2 innings.
