Banquet honors graduating athletes

PROVO, Utah – The BYU Student Athlete Life and Learning Center hosted its annual Graduation Banquet on Thursday in the LaVell Edwards Stadium Cougar Room, recognizing 89 graduating athletes for academic achievement.

Of the 89 graduating BYU student-athletes, 20 earned a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher. Coaches and family joined the BYU administration in recognizing athletes for their accomplishments in the classroom.

Following remarks by Trevor Wilson, director of the Student Athlete Life and Learning Center, three of the graduating seniors, Yesenia Silva (women’s track and field), Kamel Greene (football) and Mackenzie Douglas (gymnastics) spoke as part of the program.

After the speakers, the academic advisors presented the graduation awards. Tom Holmoe, BYU director of athletics, the gave the closing remarks.
