PROVO, Utah—BYU wrapped up the 2014 fall sports season ranked No. 15 nationally in the Division I Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings with a score of 226.5.

All five fall sports — men’s cross country, women’s cross country, football, women’s soccer and women’s volleyball — contributed to the score, with women’s volleyball and men’s cross country finishing in the top 20 of their respective sports.

Women’s volleyball finished the year with a 30-5 record and advanced to the NCAA championship match for the first time in school history to earn 90 points in the Director’s Cup standings. Men’s cross country finished No. 16 and scored 58.5 points. Women’s cross country amassed 28 points, while football and women’s soccer each scored 25.

The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.  Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 20 sports — 10 women’s and 10 men’s.

Stanford leads the Division I standings with 545 points, followed by UCLA with 497.5 and North Carolina with 434.5.
