Vinci began working with the sport of volleyball in a small club called Pallavolo Casteggio as manager and then assistant coach as a 13 year old. In this club he worked with various teams, winning several province championships and particpating in the regional championships several times. He has worked with both the mens and womens Division I and Division II Italian Professional Leagues.

He was an assistant coach with the Men's Junior National Team at the 2009 FIVB World Championships in India.

Vinci worked in both Divisions I (Serie A1) and II (Serie A2) in both men's and women's Italian professional volleyball leagues winning the Italian Cup in 2007. With the women's team, he also participated in the 2011 and 2012 World Grand Prix, placing first both times.

Vinci went to the Olympics with the Italian Olympic National team where they placed fourth. The team also participated in all of the main international competitions such as the World League and European Championship.

With USA volleyball, Vinci was assistant coach in 2009 for the Junior World Championships in India and was also a scout coach for the USA women's national team that participated to the 2010 World Championship in Japan (fourth place) and 2011 World Cup in Japan (second place). Vinici also participated in the 2012 London Olympics with the same team, which took second place.

Here in the United States, Vinci has worked with the BYU men's and women's volleyball teams, as well as USA Volleyball. He recently graduated from BYU in recreation management with a minor in music. 

He is a native of Milan, Italy, and is the son of Francesca and has sisters Deborah, Alessia, Angelica and Ombretta. He married Jacquelyn Slade in November 2014.
