INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 3 BYU men’s cross country team qualified for the NCAA Cross Country Championships after receiving an at-large selection during Saturday’s NCAA Selection Show.

The NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Track and Field and Cross Country Committee announced the team and individual qualifiers, after the respective NCAA regional competitions on Friday. The top two teams from each region automatically qualified, for a total of 18 teams. The top 25 individuals in each region also received an automatic qualification. The remaining 13 team spots were selected at-large.

At the NCAA Mountain Region Championships, the men’s team finished third overall and the No. 3 women’s team secured its spot at Nationals after taking first place. This is the fifth-straight year of qualifying for the women’s team. The men’s team has advanced every year since 1999.

The Cougars will compete at the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 23, in Terre Haute, Indiana. The full selections release is available on ncaa.com.
