BYU track and field completes day one of Aztec Invitational

SAN DIEGO – BYU track and field completed day one of competition at the Aztec Invitational at the SDSU Sports Deck on Friday.

Jared Lorimier finished first in the high jump open at 2.00m. Kevin Nielsen finished behind him in second place at 1.90m. 

Jefferson Jarvis earned a first place spot in the shot put open with his 16.84m mark.

BYU secured three of the four top finishes in the discus throw open. Jarvis finished second (53.15m), Seth Knowlton came in third (47.65m), with Jacob Foutz rounding out the group in fourth (47.42).

Raul Rios competed in the pole vault open and earned a first place spot with a mark of 5.06m.

Keesha Miller placed second in the 100m open with a time of 12.02. Haley Rogers crossed the finish line right after her to secure third (12.04).

Sierra Hansen secured a first-place finish in the pole vault open with a 3.92m mark.

Ellyana Long and Nicole Lord completed the high jump open second and third respectively. Long finished at 1.67m and Lord finished at 1.62m.

Kassie Nagel earned a second place finish in the shot put open with a 13.75m mark and Sierra Freeland finished behind her in third (12.71m).

Dailyn Johnson came in second in the discus open with her 45.95m mark.
