PROVO, Utah - Junior goalkeeper Erica Owens has been named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week for her performance in BYU's final two regular season games.

Owens recorded the BYU women's soccer team's ninth and 10th shutouts of the year last weekend. She secured a 1-0 overtime victory against Loyola Marymount and a 2-0 victory against No. 22 Pepperdine in the team's regular season finale.

Over 193 minutes were spent in the front of the net while Owens made five saves. She now leads the WCC in Goals-Against Average, Save Percentage and Total Shutouts.

The Cougars went 18-1-1 through the regular season and were unbeaten against five teams ranked in the Top-25. They finished ranked first in the WCC for their first conference championship in the new league.
