PROVO -- The BYU women’s gymnastics team will travel a short distance to Logan, Utah to face in-state rival Utah State on Friday. The meet will begin at 7 p.m. in the Spectrum.

The two teams have already met once this season in a tri-meet hosted by BYU. The Cougars outscored the Aggies 195.050-190.475. BYU has struggled thus far this season on the road but Cougar head coach Brad Cattermole hopes that his squad will perform to its’ potential in Logan.

“We are concentrating on taking the good things that we are doing in practice into the meet,” Cattermole said Thursday. “We are excited about this meet and we are pleased with the progress our team is making.”

BYU has seen drastic improvement this season and it seems that the injury-plagued Cougars of last year are finally becoming a memory. With five meets behind them, BYU will look for improvements in each contest.

“We want to continue to improve,” Cattermole said. “The girls are working hard in workouts and we know they are capable of achieving their goals for this season.”

Friday’s meet can be followed live on the Internet. Fans can watch the meet live online by clicking on the “Watch Live” link at www.UtahStateAggies.com. Fans will have to register and pay a small fee to watch. Live results are available by clicking on the “Live Results” link at www.UtahStateAggies.com. The Cougars will return home next week to take on their other in-state rival University of Utah. The meet will take place in the Marriott Center at 7 p.m. on February 26, 2010.
