PROVO -- After one day of rest following their first dual meet against TCU, the BYU women’s swim and dive team (1-0) will travel to Albuquerque to take on New Mexico (1-2) and Northern Arizona University (2-1) Saturday at 11 a.m. MT.

“We are coming off a solid win with our women’s team,” said BYU head coach Tim Powers. “We look to win again this weekend.”

Last year the Cougars beat the New Mexico Lobos 185-104 and will prove to perform equally well as they did vs. TCU Thursday.

Against TCU, the women won 14 out of 16 events, with sophomore Rachel Grant winning both fly events and the 200 IM, as well as helping the 400 medley relay team come out with a win.

Junior All-American diver Tawni Jones came out with two wins vs. TCU and looks for both the 1-meter and 3-meter titles again this Saturday.

Freshman Amy Xu and junior Natasha Menezes will lead the distance swimmers while sophomore Aleesha Miller will lead the Cougars in the sprinting events. Freshman Candice Smith will also help in the backstroke.

Both the Cougar men and women will be back in the pool Saturday Nov. 8 for the Lincoln Shootout in Long Beach, Calif.
