INDIANAPOLIS — BYU junior offensive lineman Clark Barrington was today named to the Action Network 2022 Preseason All-America First Team.

The 6-6, 302-pound left guard has now been selected a preseason All-American by five organizations, having previously been named to the Phil Steele Preseason All-America First Team, The Sporting News Preseason All-America Second Team, Lindy's Sports Preseason All-America Second Team and Athlon Sports Preseason All-America Third Team.

A two-year starter on the BYU offensive line, Barrington started all 13 games in 2021 and was named All-America at the conclusion of the season by Action Network and Pro Football Focus. He was an integral part of the Pro Football Focus 2021 Offensive Line of the Year, helping the BYU offense produce 33 points per game, while averaging 452 yards of total offense.

The junior from Spokane, Washington, was among 52 players named to the 2022 Action Network’s preseason All-America first or second team. In all, 35 schools were represented in one of the two teams.

Barrington also played in 10 games, starting five, as a freshman in 2019. The following season, he started 10 games at left guard as a sophomore and was named to the 2020 Phil Steel All-Independent Second Team for his role in helping the BYU offense rank No. 3 in scoring (43.5) and No. 6 in total offense (522.2).
