Career Summary

Christina Gwyn Trice broke every BYU strikeout record set during her senior campaign in 2008. She is in the top 10 in every single career and season pitching category, including the top spots for strikeouts per seven innings in a career and season. In 2008, she threw the first no-hitter in BYU history. As a junior, she helped lead her team to a MWC regular season championship. In both seasons, she pushed the Cougars to the NCAA regionals.

  • Held a 19-9 record with a 1.68 ERA in 42 appearances, pitching in 14 complete games
  • Threw first complete-game no hitter on May 16 against Campbell at the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional
  • Was named MWC Pitcher of the Week on April 15, following a nine inning shut out performance against San Diego State
  • Originally broke single-game strike out record during season opener against Southern Utah with 13 strike outs
  • Broke her own record on April 24 against UNLV and against on May 16 against Campbell striking out 14 batters
  • Shattered single-season strike out record with 245 total, the previous record was set in 2001 by Maryon DeWitt-Wallentine
