Born in Burley, Ida...parents are Bruce and Angie...served an LDS mission in Boston, Mass. (Spanish speaking) under President Dale Murphy, former Atlanta Braves all-star...married the former Lori Cieslak a day after the Mississippi State game, 9/15/2000...member of the BYU Rugby team...recruited by Cal, UCLA, Washington, Stanford, Boise State, Oregon, Arizona, Oregon State and Washington State.

Before BYU

First team all-state as linebacker and running back...Valley League player of the year for both offense and defense...led team to Valley League championship both sophomore and junior years...also lettered in baseball, basketball, track and wrestling.

BYU Hall of Fame

Freshman Year 1996

Played in eight games as a freshman...carried the ball seven times for 17 yards, including a season long of nine yards (vs. Arkansas State).

Sophmore Year 1999

Participated in spring drills...played in five games...had 11 yards on four rushes for the season...had a 21 yard kickoff return against Air Force.

Junior Year 2000

Significant contributor during spring drills...led Blue team with 62 yards rushing on 13 carries in 27-21 loss to White team during Blue-White spring game...recorded a 13-yard touchdown and recovered a fumble in the endzone to score two of the White team's three touchdown...caught one pass for eight yards...played in 10 games during the regular season...had two carries against Florida State and recorded two receptions for 24 yards, including a 17-yarder against the top-ranked Seminoles...had a punt return for 18 yards against New Mexico...played a significant role on special teams, recording five unassisted tackles and two assisted takedowns.

Senior Year 2001

Played in all 13 regular season games for the Cougars and started in the Liberty Bowl against No. 22 Louisville...received coaches award for efforts in New Mexico games...recorded 41 rushing carries for a total of 173 yards and one touchdown...season-high of 42 yards on one carry against Wyoming...credited with 198 yards on 13 receptions on the year...season-high nine receptions against Hawaii for 145 yards...one reception for 31 yards (season high)...posted seven tackles on the season, four solo...made one kick return for four yards...a member of the 2001 MWC Championship team...helped BYU to a 12-2 record during the season, including a streak of 12 straight wins...a significant contributor for the top-ranked offense in the nation (averaging 46.8 points and 542.8 yards per game).
