Parents are John and Deanna...recruited by Oregon and Oregon State...served a mission to Hawai'i...older brother, John, played for BYU and is with Tampa Bay...majoring in psychology.

Before BYU

Graduated from North Bend High in 1986 after earning three letters each in football, basketball and baseball...also added two letters in track...two time all-district punter...all-district and all-state defensive tackle..all-district designated hitter in baseball...coached by Howard Johnson (Montana).

Freshman Year 1986

Lettered as a reserve on varsity.

Sophmore Year 1990

Punt following a safety at Oregon...had three tackles against Colorado State...against New Mexico had one tackle, a pass deflection and punted three times for a 46.3 average and a long punt of 58 yards...was second unit on the varsity.

Junior Year 1991

Had off-season ankle injury...started against Florida State in the Pigskin Classic, but was injured...returned later in the season in a second-unit role...had six tackles against Air Force...had five tackles, a quarterback hurry and a sack at Colorado State...punted twice...named defensive lineman of the game by the coaches against Colorado State and Utah State.
