Parents are Delton and Mary Lou...served a mission to Cordoba, Argentina...recruited by the University of Calgary...wants to go to medical school...majoring in exercise science.

Before BYU

Prepped at Lethbridge Collegiate Institute...lettered three times in football and basketball...was also a tight end...was team MVP twice in football, once in basketball and two-time athlete of the year...coached by Cliff Walters (BYU) and Craig Brack (Lethbridge).

Freshman Year 1987

Walked on and played with the junior varsity.

Sophmore Year 1991

Earned a scholarship...was second unit to Shad Hansen at inside linebacker...had six assisted tackles against Florida State in the Pigskin Classic...had seven tackles at Penn State...had five tackles at Colorado State...had two unassisted tackles against Iowa in the Holiday Bowl...was Academic All-WAC...named special teams player of the year by the coaches.

Junior Year 1992

Had a 16-yard interception return in the spring game...made a very favorable impression with the coaching staff during the spring drills...second team All-WAC...Academic All-WAC...starter for BYU's first two games...injured ankle vs. San Diego State and before Utah State game...started in remaining seven games...first on the team in unassisted tackles with 57...recovered a fourth quarter fumble against Hawai'i...named WAC Defensive Player of the Week at Air Force...BYU coaches' outstanding linebacker of the game vs. Hawai'i, Penn State, Air Force and Utah...had 14 tackles in the Aloha Bowl.

Senior Year 1993

BYU's returning defensive points leader...a Butkus Award candidate.
