Born 12/15/71 in Omaha, Nebraska...parents are Richard and Connie...served an LDS Church mission to Oakland, California...younger brother plays quarterback for the Air Force Academy...recruited by Eastern Illinois, Utah, Air Force, Wyoming and Northwestern in football and Illinois State and Indiana State for baseball ...majoring in finance with a minor in economics and accounting.

Before BYU

Lettered twice in both football and basketball at Naperville North High...unanimous All-DuPage Valley Conference and all-area in football...honorable mention all-state and area player-of-the-year as a quarterback...all-conference in baseball as a shortstop...football team won 11 straight before losing in the quarterfinals...coached by Larry McKeon (Illinois).

BYU Hall of Fame

Freshman Year 1990

Started as a halfback for the junior varsity...played fall baseball, along with Ryan Hancock...traveled to the Holiday Bowl.

Played in the Air Force and Utah State games...traveled to the Copper Bowl.
