Parents are Gary and Marilyn Miles...father was a starter on the BYU basketball team...married Cindy Buxton in April 1985...the couple has a son...majoring in finance with minors in economics and accounting.

Before BYU

All-league two years at defensive back and wide receiver...captained Montgomery High football team...won National Football Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete Award...also started at forward in basketball...placed in NCS finals in the discus...coached by Jason Franci (UC-Santa Barbara).

Freshman Year 1983

Had two interceptions with the jayvees.

Sophmore Year 1985

Moved to wide receiver in the spring...played a lot after injuries sidelined Glen Kozlowski and Mark Bellini...caught eight passes for 86 yards and two touchdowns...scored BYU's only touchdown of the game in the Citrus Bowl vs. Ohio State, a 38-yard pass from Robbie Bosco.

Junior Year 1986

Started as a wideout in 10 games..suffered broken ribs against New Mexico and missed Washington game...came back two weeks later to catch a TD pass from Steve Lindsley against Temple...receiver of the week vs. Oregon State.
